Electronic Filler (Hot Fill) for PET bottles (no contact)

Sacmi EHF is dedicated to the hot filling of non-carbonated products in PET bottles.  The mechanical features of the filling valves allow  the production of clear products, and of products with fibres and pulps.
The filling valve does not touch the bottle, thus avoiding any contamination, brought about by the container, to the machine and therefore to the other bottles.

How it works

The containers are handled through the neck, so that during the production of containers with different volume, but same finish, size change time is reduced.
Filling technology is of electronic-volumetric type: each filling valve is equipped with a magnetic flow meter, which measures the volume delivered in the bottle, thus allowing machine electronics to manage the filling.
All filling cycle phases are managed through valves with pneumatic control.
Each time the machine halts, product recirculation is activated, in order to keep the temperature in the filling valves constant. Recirculation concerns only the product in the valves and not the product in the bottle.
The filling cycle is configured on the operator panel and can be modified according to the requirements of the product being filled, for instance, the slow filling phases can be eliminated.
Each single valve can be monitored through filling electronic management: the performance and any possible malfunction of the valve are sensed in real time.


The product is delivered through tubes, in order to achieve machine highest washability on the rotating carousel. The only tanks have been installed and fixed on the ground, outside the carousel, and they respectively receive the product from the pasteurization system and activate the recirculation of the product being delivered from the filler to the pasteurizer. These tanks are washed through spray ball system. The dummy bottle introduction and extraction is completely automatic. This type of mechanical structure has been developed in order to reduce as much as possible the amount of product lost at production beginning and end.
The design of machine structural parts avoids the stagnation of liquids. In particular, the upper surface of the bases is inclined.
The guards have been installed on the floor and manufactured in safety glass and stainless steel.


Sacmi EHF has been designed in order to obtain a minimized and facilitated maintenance. These are some of the solutions employed:

  • The product distributor has been equipped with mechanical seal, thus eliminating the higher wear of the slipping gaskets
  • All the remaining parts are lubricated for life, with the exception of the slewing ring and the capper.
  • The filling valve can be taken off from the carousel in less than 30 seconds
  • No custom electronic component nor electrical panel for filling management on the rotating part.
