Olympia Ceramica chooses automatic finishing with SACMI RobotClean

Mainly dedicated to finishing WC bowls, this solution guarantees quality and process repeatability, minimizing manual operations and ensuring respect of the environment. With this latest supply a total of 5 RobotClean solutions have now been supplied by SACMI to Italian customers, after just one year since this new technology was launched on the market.

Style and personality have always been the hallmarks of the complete bathroom design by Olympia Ceramica, which has just installed a new SACMI robotized cell for the automatic finishing of WC bowls.
Founded in 1979 in Corchiano (Viterbo), today the company exports 75% of its output and is renowned for its exclusive style, a symbol of Made in Italy sanitaryware. A further sign of the company’s mission is the choice to invest in SACMI RobotClean, a solution which develops the concept of white finishing of sanitaryware to achieve automation, quality and process repeatability.
The robot is provided with a laser system for automatic identification of the position of the piece, which is finished in every area – outside, inside, rim, seat fixing holes – by means of specific abrasive tools. All the operations – piece handling, pick-up of the necessary tools – are carried out by the robot completely independently. The finishing programs can be set up offline and called up when needed thanks to Smart Offline NG by SACMI-Gaiotto; flagship company for all the SACMI automation systems for sanitaryware production lines.
One of the main advantages of this solution is the reduction in handling operations and manual work; in fact, with RobotClean, the operator never comes into contact with the piece during finishing. The configuration supplied to Olympia includes automatic loading and unloading systems as well as filters and dust abatement equipment to keep the working area around the robot clean and respect the environment.
Delivered at the start of 2022, the cell is now running at full capacity to the complete satisfaction of the customer. This supply means that a total of 5 SACMI solutions of this kind have been installed so far at Italian customer plants less than a year after this new technology was first introduced on the market. It is a strong signal of the success of this precise, powerful and versatile solution which is able to handle the full range of white finishing of any type of sanitaryware piece whilst, at the same time, reducing manual operations and freeing up resources to concentrate on creativity and design.
