Villeroy&Boch makes a major investment in Hungary with SACMI RobotCasting

Modernization of the Hungarian facility continues apace with final testing of a complete WC casting cell featuring two AVM high pressure casting machines. SACMI is also a key partner-developer of the mold that will be used to launch a new rimless WC on the market

Villeroy&Boch has chosen the certainty that comes with SACMI RobotCasting solutions. A leading producer of high quality bathroom furnishings, tableware and tiles since 1748, the company is now working alongside SACMI to drive forward a technological renewal and expansion plan for its plant in Hungary.

The last few weeks have seen a complete production cell - consisting of two AVM 150 high pressure casting machines - undergo final testing. In this configuration, parallel control of tasks on the two casting machines optimizes robot workloads. SACMI is also supplying the molds used to develop a new rimless designer WC, one of the flagship products in Villeroy&Boch’s catalogue for European markets.

With this investment the company has focused on SACMI RobotCasting, a global best-seller that delivers high levels of automation and outstanding product quality and process repeatability. Equally important is the partnership to develop the mold and the complete modeling process, a team effort that draws on all the opportunities offered by the robotic production line.

Investment in casting is just the first step in Villeroy & Boch's broader modernization plan for its Hungarian plant. For SACMI, this order acknowledges its unique ability to provide state-of-the-art technology and close customer support, every step of the way from initial product concept to industrialization.
