Güral Porselen chooses the SACMI-Sama UPM-8 fired piece finishing cell

Already supplied to other leading international tableware manufacturers this solution has become the international benchmark for parallel control of the widest mix of articles ready to be palletized and sold.

At the forefront, both in Turkey and worldwide, of medium/top range tableware manufacture, Güral Porselen chooses SACMI for automation of its fired product finishing department. The solution adopted is the UPM-8 automatic grinding machine, top of the SACMI-Sama range, provided with eight work stations for finishing a complex mix of fired articles such as plates of all shapes and sizes, large and small cups.
Already installed and started up with success at Güral Porselen’s headquarters, situated in the city of Kütahya, this machine was specially configured by SACMI according to the specific requirements of the customer, with the loading and unloading units positioned, respectively, at the kiln exit and at the entrance to the palletizing department.

Able to handle pieces of any shape, with maximum diameter equal to 400 mm and maximum height of 150 mm (with foot section to be worked on having diameter from 30 to 350 mm and 3 mm height) this solution can be suitable for finishing the base of any kind of tableware item such as round or non-round plates, large and small cups. In this way it is possible to fully realize the potential of the production line which Güral Porselen is investing in to renovate and modernize it.

In particular, the carousel supplied is made up of eight work stations, from the loading unit to the finishing unit provided with coarse grain diamond abrasive belts. Following this are the three stations; fine grain finishing station, washing and drying station and unloading conveyor belt. During the work process, the piece is loaded onto the carousel and transferred from one work station to another by means of suction cups using vacuum technology thus allowing parallel finishing of 8 pieces for a total of 1200 pieces per hour

Already supplied to other international market leaders in the industry, the SACMI-Sama UPM-8 automatic grinding machine has become a benchmark in this sector for process automation and versatility.  Each work station can in fact be controlled independently by adjusting the pressure and rotation speed according to the particular type and design of product to be finished.
The investment shows the long-term vision of Güral Porselen which, in addition to choosing top-of-the-range equipment (the SACMI-Sama solution is available in versions with from 4 to 8 work stations) has chosen a solution already set-up for complete automation of the loading and unloading operations.
